Gran Canaria information

Gran Canaria is a small continent in miniature. An island close to Europe, with a range of beaches as diverse as the changing landscapes it hides. Almost 60 kilometers of beaches on 236 kilometers of coastline, under a soft sun that seems to want to stay here.

Also in the south you will find another long series of beaches. There are family and quiet, such as San Agustin, the beach of Amadores or the small beach of Puerto de Mogán.

Or perhaps you prefer the animation of the traditional tourist enclave of Puerto Rico, one of the places with the best climate in the whole country.

Gran Canaria

The island of Gran Canaria is located on the Atlantic Ocean, 210 km from the African coast. It is the third largest in the Canary Archipelago. Its airport is located 18 km from the capital: the city of Las Palmas.

Gran Canaria, with 845,676 inhabitants, is the second most populated island of the archipelago. The island receives more than four million tourists each year.

With average annual temperatures that range between 18 and 25 degrees Celsius, Gran Canaria maintains a spring-like climate all year round.

Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, capital of the island, is a dynamic and cosmopolitan port city.

You can not miss a stroll through Vegueta, the Historic and Colonial Quarter, one of the most beautiful places in the city that was declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco in 1990.

Another place of exquisite architecture is the historic center of the town of Aguimes, with its perfectly restored buildings, it is one of the best examples of Canarian neoclassicism.

From Aguimes, the road to the impressive Guayadeque ravine begins where you can see one of the most green and impressive valleys on the island.

To the south of the island are The ecosystem of the dunes of Mas Palomas. This small desert of 328 hectares of golden sands is one of the main attractions of the island and its beaches are considered by many to be some of the best in the archipelago.

At the southern tip of the island, the small and active port of Mogán with its beautiful architecture, is one of the most picturesque and popular enclaves of the archipelago.

Surprising for its careful and colorful architecture, its small canals and windows that are adorned with lush bougainvillea and hibiscus.
